Senior Product Designer

Tuesday 2 June | Discovery day

Turning failure into opportunity

talk learning

This talk explores how setbacks, big or small, can be powerful catalysts for growth in the professional and personal sphere. By analyzing what went wrong, we can uncover insights, adapt, and ultimately build stronger products, teams, and careers.

This isn’t about failure in abstract: Luisa will share real stories, practical strategies, and actionable takeaways. It’s about embracing experimentation, learning fast, and turning mistakes into opportunities, no matter what field you’re in.

Over the years, Luisa has worked across startups and established companies alike, and seen firsthand how failure can teach lessons that success rarely does.

Luisa Berta is a design leader who challenges the way we think about growth, success, and failure in the design industry. With a background in product and UX design, she’s less interested in polished outcomes and more in the messy reality behind them — the uncertainty, the wrong turns, and the decisions that don’t go to plan.

Her work focuses on reframing the narratives designers are taught to believe, especially around failure. Instead of something to avoid, she sees failure as a necessary, strategic part of doing meaningful work — not a weakness, but a signal.
